NATURALISTIC SUPPORT
AI and the Future of Work
While it may not happen tomorrow, ultimately AI and robotics are going to end the need for most people to work. An economy that has delegated most of its work to AI and robotics will generate unprecedented wealth sufficient to provide a comfortable standard of living for all. But the tech-titans will most likely resist such sharing.
Unfortunately, rather than preparing for the economic struggle ahead by reexamining the current way we divide our society’s collective wealth, many people are in denial about the inevitability of automation. Instead of demanding a share of the AI Robots productivity boon, many seem to be more concerned with demanding that they keep their jobs.
This shouldn’t be surprising, after all, for years media pundits, clergy, and other community leaders have been telling us that our jobs are essential for our happiness, mental health, and human dignity.
But, what if they are wrong?
Join us as we explore what a future without pay-seeking work might look like.
